Read plays written by Black British, African and Caribbean playwrights each month with our Black Plays Archive Play Subscription.
Each play sent as part of your subscription are represented in the Black Plays Archive; an online catalogue of the first professional production in the UK of Black British, African and Caribbean playwrights. The BPA is managed by the National Theatre's Archive team, but it includes historical work and productions from theatres across the UK.
Please note, the plays in the product image are not necessarily ones you'll receive throughout your subscription. We send out a different play each month, chosen expertly by one of the bookshop team in collaboration with the Black Plays Archive team.
Delivery costs are a one off fee charged when you purchase a subscription. This charge covers all monthly postage costs throughout the duration of your subscription.

We offer a free click and collect service to pick up your subscription in store each month.
You can collect your subscription order in our bookshop each month. We will email you when your subscription is ready to collect. Please show this email to the team on collection.
We send out a welcome card when you order a subscription.
We ship our monthly subscriptions at the start of each month.
Your first subscription will be sent at the start of the following month from when you placed your order. For example, if you place your subscription order in May, you will receive your first subscription at the start of June.
We currently only offer a one-time purchase plan for our subscriptions. This means that when purchasing one of our subscriptions, you pay the cost up-front.
We do not offer a pay-monthly subscription service.
We are sorry to hear that you are thinking of cancelling your subscription.
Unfortunately, our subscriptions are unable to be cancelled once we have processed your first month.
Our subscriptions last for 3, 6 or 12 months, depending on the length of subscription you have ordered.
If you have had a change of mind and we are yet to process your first month's subscription, we can offer you a full refund. Please get in contact with us as soon as possible.
