Our Bookshop on the South Bank is getting an exciting makeover! We will be temporarily closed for refurbishment starting at 7:30 PM on Friday, September 5th.
To ensure you can still get your favourite play scripts and gifts, please use our free click-and-collect service.

Our shop is one of the finest specialist theatre bookshops in the world. Expect to find an unrivalled selection of theatre books, specialist performing arts titles, playtexts and signed editions. Our knowledgeable team are always happy to offer recommendations and share their enthusiasm for theatre with you.
We also offer a carefully curated range of fiction and non-fiction books, prints, homewares, stationery, jewellery and giftware. Every purchase helps support the artistic work of the National Theatre. Please note, we currently only accept card payments in our shop.
You’ll find us inside the National Theatre on London’s South Bank, close to Waterloo, Embankment and Southwark stations.

We are well connected on public transport by tube, bus, cycle routes and river boat services.
Our opening times are:
Monday to Saturday, 10 am–10.30 pm. Please note, the shop opening hours sometimes differ from the National Theatre building opening hours.
We are open on Sundays during the summer. From Sunday July 29th to Sunday 31st August (excluding Sunday 24th), we will be open from 12-6 pm. It would be great to see you in the shop!
