Southbank Magenta Tote Bag
This capacious tote bag is a design collaboration between artist and illustrator Paul Catherall and C20 Society, the UK’s national charity for the protection of outstanding 20th century buildings, design and public art. As a significant example of British post-war architecture, The National Theatre is one of Paul’s favourite brutalist buildings.
The artist says: ‘the National Theatre is my long-time favourite brutalist building. I love that the image appears semi abstract yet features an actual view – with little artistic licence required! It’s testament to the graphic beauty of the architecture.’
The gusseted bag is inspired by the building’s graphic beauty and features the artist’s striking linocut print ‘Southbank Magenta’ from 2002. It is made in Wiltshire on ethically sourced canvas
