Dame Harriet Walter Recommends… Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again by Alice Birch

This alerted me to a totally unique and exciting voice. Defiantly challenging but effortlessly individual. It is hard to define her in terms of contribution to the feminist cannon or “pertinence to female experiences” because her work seems to engage us all and almost subliminally redefine all relationships between all genders and ages. The barriers are down and the fluidity itself is feminist.

Alice Birch examines the language, behaviour and forces that shape women in the 21st century and asks what's stopping us from doing something truly radical to change them.
